The 30 Day Resident Evil Challenge - Day 8

Q: What was the first RE game you played?

A: Resident Evil 4

-----

Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube. <3 Unfortunately, I was born after the Playstation 1 era so I missed out on a lot of the early games. I also went with the Nintendo systems over the Sony systems so there weren't many other options!

Luckily, the game made such an impression on me that I decided to play other games in the series.. and I've now played most of them to this date.

The 30 Day Resident Evil Challenge - Day 7

Q: Least Favorite Male Character?

A: Raymond Vester

-----

Raymond rubs me the wrong way for many reasons. He redeems himself slightly by not being an asshat at the game's ending, but everything else about the guy is just plain unlikable. The way he carries himself, his attitude, his outlooks and beliefs. I tried to connect with him or get an angle on what his character was supposed to be, but it was a difficult thing to try and do.

His placement in the story is poor, only existing (in my mind) to build up Parker's character. He's so unremarkable and forgettable, which is a shame, because I think that Revelations is a fantastic game.

The 30 Day Resident Evil Challenge - Day 6

Q: Favorite Weapon?

A: Rocket Launcher

-----

The rocket launcher is the most iconic weapon to me, and the one I always associate with the Resident Evil series. Mainly because it is the one weapon that the player always (usually) uses to kill the final boss which makes for a fantastic display of explosions at the game's ending.

If you have the option to be able to unlock it, using it for fun is a great reward. Some of my favorite memories with the Rocket Launcher is from Resident Evil 5, playing co-op with a friend where we both had a rocket launcher strapped to our backs... blowing up everything in site. The amount of times that we shot and killed each other (or ourselves) made for a very fun time.
